Integrative Communication & Emotional Intelligence
(6 months)
Integrative Communication & Emotional Intelligence is a coaching cohort where participants will gain the strategies and knowledge to build rapport, influence, better listening, and unlock the key to effective communication! Communication skills involve listening, speaking, observing and empathizing. In this coaching experience, you will learn and apply communication tools based in neuroscience and positive psychology which will enable you a new level of freedom to communicate in any situation with effectiveness.
Consider for a moment how much you communicate verbally, nonverbally and with the written language. For most people the word “communication” is synonymous with “talking to people”, when in fact effective communication is a “shared dialogue that conveys sharing of ideas, creating stronger solutions, and building rapport across the exchange” (Trudeau, 2021). The Journal of Communication measured to what extent we utilize communication in general and it showed that you spend almost 75% of your day in some form communicating to other (Klemmer & Synder). We actually underestimate the amount of communication we utilize.
This fall we are breaking the codes on communication preferences or patterns among the different personality types. We will explore the MBTI preferences research as well as the Strengths Finders assets to learn how to communicate with more effectiveness across the different preference styles.
The world is made of all different personalities, preferences, and styles. By developing strategies to build more effective rapport across these differences we will increase happiness, productivity, accomplishments, as well as overall building stronger relationships. By helping people understand themselves, Myers and Briggs believed that they could help people select occupations that were best suited to their personality types and lead healthier, happier lives.
In the world the research from the MBTI Foundation shows that there are quite a bit of differences across the personalities. The second letter in the four letter preference demonstrates the first real area to explore; how we interpret and receive information.
